One late withdrawal, on the morning, saw 92 players brave the cold and windy conditions at the challenging Kooringal layout. We were away on time for the 9 o'clock shotgun which got the day off to a good start.
The breakfast rolls available from PEKISH Caterers prior to the game were well received before the players ventured out into blustery conditions.
Whilst the weather conditions were difficult to contend with the course was in excellent condition and well appreciated by the players. Some players found the speed of the greens to be an extra challenge but, although fast they were true and had a lot of players from other clubs envious.
Scoring was difficult and the best score of the day went to Kooringal member Derek Kennedy with 36 points off his 9 handicap. Derek was the only player to reach the magic 36 points with only 25% of the field scoring 30 points or better.
Winners on the day were:
A Grade (and best on the day) - Derek Kennedy (Kooringal) 36 Points
B Grade - Kevin Sheedy (Trentham) 33 Points
C Grade - Neil Fowler (RAAF WIlliams) 34 Points
D Grade - Bill Wise (Heidelberg) 35 Points
